Dinky 933
Dinky 533/933 Leyland Cement Wagon "Ferrocrete". Very, very near mint/in dual-numbered box. From 1954. A superb example from the Tyne & Wear collection.
Notes
This striking Dinky toy has a vibrant deep yellow original paint finish with a fine lustre throughout. Nice fresh example showing minimal handling. ‘Portland Cement’ transfers are perfect, ‘Ferrocrete’ lettering is virtually perfect at the sides ( occasional negligible pin prick dot) and the rear transfer is thankfully free of the near obligatory scrape form the box staples! It does have a little casting roughness at this site however (minor).
A wonderful display piece!
Hard to find a mark to the paint finish which is virtually mint – just one little mark at a headlight edge and a small area of slight rough casting on the bonnet. Not often seen in this condition!
The dual-numbered box is strongly-coloured, clean and fresh with no splits. No loss of colour vibrancy on the box base and that includes the portion visible below the lid! Some rusting at the staples and very minor wear besides. Period price is just about visible at a lid end, although there is a little surface removal at this site. Re-numbered from 522 in 1954 (later this model would be re-numbered to 419 in 1956).
