C153
Corgi 153A Proteus Campbell Bluebird Record Car. Very, very near mint/boxed (really crisp). A lovely example from The London Collection.
Notes
From an investment collection of high quality models.
Issued between 1961-65, this black plastic-wheeled version is in superb condition with perfect crossed Union Jack flags at the nose ( this is the later version – earlier issue has one UK and one USA flag).
In original condition throughout with an outstanding lustre. One little mark on one of the raised arches (nearly always found heavily rubbed through box contact) and none of the usual chipping at the nose. Few little marks on the base.
Exceptional quality, nonetheless.
The long slim box is a fitting partner with barely any wear at all. Extremely crisp, bright and fresh. No graffiti. Tiny corner edge stains at one end flap if you want to find fault with it. End flaps feel as if they have been carefully prised open a couple of times – ever.
