Notes
A fine and original example of this early version made between 1953-54 (later renumbered 981). It is cast in aluminium and has a bright deep maroon paint finish, which is very close to perfect. One very small mark on the roof and a little rubbing at one of the opening door handles at the side of the vehicle. Minute wear on the rear opening door handle. Pefect “BRITISH RAILWAYS” label above the cab window, perfect labels and transfers on one side, very close to perfect on the other. A lovely and obviously unused example – one of the nicest we have seen in a long while.
It comes in the correct early deep blue box with complete, bright paper labels. It is a fitting partner with excellent vibrant colours and only very minor wear, including a little scribbled out price and slight rusting at the staples. It has the card packing pieces in side the box which protect the model.
