D901
Dinky 901 Foden Diesel 8-Wheel Wagon. Very near mint/boxed, with packing piece. Issued 1956. From The Heart of England Collection.
Notes
Issued between 1954-57, this truck has a red cab and chassis, greyish-brown or earth back, grooved red Supertoy hubs. Fine lustre to the original paint finish throughout and a superb close to pristine Supertoys box make this an exquisite display piece.
These classic Foden trucks are so often found with touch-ins, areas of repainting nowadays. Thankfully, this example is in totally original condition with just the occasional little mark at wheel arches as you might expect. The vibrant cab is virtually mint! The fawn back has none of the usual rubs at raised details or chipping at the top edges. A little rustiness at the axle ends – would benefit from a careful clean. An exceptional and fresh item from this collector.
Note that the box still has its ‘LF’ (lead free) sticker at a lid end .The vibrant blue base has none of the expected shelf wear or scuffing. Really clean and vibrant box, which comes complete with the original little packing card piece which fits behind the cab (not pictured).
Just some rustiness at the box staples and tiny wear to the box besides.
Dinky stamp side the box lid dates this example from 1956.
Very nice example – both model and box! Not an easy find in this condition.
