C1139
Corgi 1139 Chipperfield's Menagerie. Very near mint/boxed. Unused with all animals in their 'bubble' housing, and unused sticky pads. With retailer card too! Exceptional example from the 1200 model Italian collection.
Notes
This is a superb Chipperfields item first issued in 1968. An especially welcome find in this close to shop-fresh condition!
It contains a Scammell truck with three plastic cages containing two lions, two tigers and two bears. This example is in completely unused condition – with a bright red and blue paint finish, jewelled headlights and Chipperfields label at cab front. None of the usual rubbing to the highly detailed decorative labels on both sides. The plastic cages are complete and intact with all animals still in their plastic ‘bubbles’. Nice to see this example still has the black elastic bands which fasten the cages to the trailer (often missing!)
If you are looking to fault it, there are is just a couple of little marks at the rear edge of the blue trailer.
The large cellophane-fronted box is fresh and bright with vivid colours.
Feels really crisp and fresh! Intact original cellophane, too. Really clean with an as-new feel to the card. Minor handling ruffling at an end flap edge.
Includes the Retailer Card ( usually discarded at the time by the shop keeper).
Colours (particularly the full pictorial scene on box reverse) are day-one bright.
The polystyrene inner is in shop-fresh condition.
Complete with the self-adhesive pads still on the backing sheet and the Corgi Club Membership Form.
Not an easy Chipperfields item to find – especially in this condition.
