D923
Dinky 923 Big Bedford Van "Heinz" . Scarce 'Tomato Ketchup Sauce Bottle' version. Excellent plus/boxed. Lovely original 'Sauce Bottle' transfers. Correct picture box!
Notes
We are pleased to offer for sale the most sought-after Big Bedford advertising lorry, issued between 1958-59 only. This fine model has a vibrant red cab and chassis and a bright yellow back.
More commonly found with the ‘Bean Can’ transfers, this scarce version has the all-important ‘Sauce Bottle’ transfers in authentic and complete condition on both sides:
Conservatively graded ‘excellent plus’.
Hard to find a mark on this model, although there are several little touch-ins visible under close scrutiny (on the van roof including a little strip at the rear of the roof, rear door hinges, couple of very hard to notice retouches on the cab, and a little at wheel arches). Baseplate is bright and fresh. The rear doors open and close well.
This scarce advertising van still makes a wonderful display piece.
The attractive and correctly-pictured Supertoy box is very fresh and bright. Minor wear only (rusty staples, very minor edge rubbing, minor shelf rubbing to the box base underside). So clean and vividly-coloured with no graffiti.
This is an especially difficult model to find in any condition.
