D919
Dinky 919 Guy Van "Golden Shred". Near mint/boxed. Scarce and sought-after model from the Italian collection. In all original condition!
Notes
Issued between 1957-58, this model is in close to mint condition with a deep, lustrous red finish and complete detailed transfers on both sides. Bright baseplate too. This iconic Dinky van looks as if it has spent the majority of the last fifty or more years in its box! With none of the sunfading or delicate transfer rubbing often associated with these models.
Closest scrutiny reveals a couple of little marks at one wheel arch (only!), and three on the top endge of the box van. Small light scratch on the box van besides. Few miniscule dots besides.
Please note that one of the ‘Golly’ figures has a slight crease on his legs (as applied at the factory) and a rub at this site. The cab roof is unmarked, head-on is fine too. Rear opening doors have remained virtually unscathed.
Beautiful sheen makes this an exquisite display piece.
The box is bright, clean and complete with a Dinky stamp on the inside of the lid which dates this particular example from 1957. No splits or heavy wear. Indeed the deep blue box base has no rubbing or fading! Little storage crumple to the corner of the lid. Staples are a little rusty. No graffiti.
One of our favourite Dinky pieces from the vast 1200 model collection from Italy.
