FD36A
French Dinky 36A/897 Willeme Log Carrier Truck. Very near mint/boxed (dual-numbered) Early issue from 1959. Old shop stock quality from the large private European lifetime collection.
Notes
A very fine first issue example of this early French Dinky truck made between 1956-59. This version has the pierced detailing on the beam beneath the logs, and of course, it was later renumbered 897 in 1959. Correct painted ridged hubs to the front cab wheels, rear four wheels are concave. This truck has barely been handled and has a lustrous paint finish, complete with five logs. Bright metal parts, including the stanchions. Spare wheel stored behind the cab. No window glazing.
Couple of the usual little (unavoidable) marks where metal meets metal at the point where the trailer attaches to the cab. One tiny mark besides.
Looks like unsold shop stock especially in this extremely fresh and bright *dual-numbered box, marking the change-over from 36A to 897 in 1959.
We have not seen better!
