D512
Dinky 512 Guy Flat Truck. First issue. Khaki and black. Very scarce in a superb fresh box! Near mint/boxed. Rare commercial Truck from a Dinky collector in Tyne & Weir, England.
Notes
A scarce and desirable Dinky commercial. This is a very fine, 1st issue example made between 1947-48 in this rare khaki and black finish with green wheels. No triangular lugs next to the number plate, early wheels, and rear axle fixed by tin clips. Small unpainted hook.
Three little marks on the cab roof and a few on the wheel arches. Few tiny rubs at flat bed edges. Bright axles and spare wheel fixing.
The correct early buff box with picture label is a very hard find in this condition. Fresh sturdy card and a vivid, day-one bright, complete paper label. Rusty staples but no splits or grafiiti. Factory dab of yellow paint at the lid end to denote colour (earliest ‘colour spot’). Factory stamp on the underside of the box base.
A lovely piece of Dinky history from around 1947.
