Notes

A scarce set issued between 1967-69 comprising:
1)Corgi 490 VW Breakdown Truck, shaped spun wheels with suspension. A few little marks to the front bumper and a negligible (probably as-made) dot or two besides. With strung tow hook, red VW emblem, complete and intact “RACING CLUB” paper labels on both sides. Both spare wheels are present, as well as an intact opening red plastic tool box, complete with all the chrome tools!

2) Corgi 156 Cooper-Maserati on a red trailer with detailed cast wheels. Model is in unused condition attached with an elastic band to the red trailer. Detailed racer with driver, steering wheel and windscreen. The trailer is very, very close to mint. Plastic tow hook and detailed cast wheels.
Very, very near mint!

The contents are housed in a distinctive and most attractive card picture box with a flip-up colourful backdrop for display. In near mint condition with a small tear at one opening hinge. Very clean, with strong vivid colours on sturdy card.

Couple of creases to the top surface as well as a very small corner tear. Original shopkeeper’s penned price has been scuffed off with surface loss at this very small area at one box end. Very minor wear besides. Inner has no tears, colours are vivid. Both winged card pieces are intact which may be used to prop open the box on display.
All in all, this is a scarce and appealing two-piece Gift Set.
