Notes
Issued in 1933 only (with Hornby Series rather than Dinky Toys cast on the underside), this is one of the precious survivors from the earliest Dinky period. Pre-War Delivery Vans from Dinky are always sought-after by collectors.
In all original condition, this Type 1 Delivery Van in lead is finished in an original blue and orange, with metal wheels. Tinplate radiator surround is shiny. ‘Meccano LTD.’, ‘LIVERPOOL’ & ‘HORNBY SERIES’ cast in and visible from the underside. Correct thin axles.
A remarkably well-preserved example in very close to mint condition!
Hard to imagine a better example exists. This model has been well-stored and carefully handled – it is especially noteworthy to find what is essentially an unboxed model some 93 years old in this fine condition.
A precious survivor from the earliest period of Dinky model making.
