Notes
Certainly one of the most sought-after Dinky commercial models and notoriously difficult to find in any condition.
This scarce Dinky Guy Van was made for just one year – 1952. In brightest, deep yellow finish with a first type cab and Supertoy wheels. A classic item from Dinky’s heyday. The transfers are virtually complete – complete at the sides. Complete ‘WEETABIX’ lettering above the cab.
Rear doors open and close well. Shiny metal parts for the most part. Smooth original tyres are well-shaped. Spare stowed on the underside.
Occasional little mark and minute and careful scrutiny under magnification finds a couple of very hard to see extra dabs of well-matched yellow paint (possibly factory). So many of these high profile Dinky Advertising Trucks have retouches – this example has fared better than most.
The intact powder blue box with paper label has bright colours on well-stored card. Lightest wear. Rusty staples.
Typically, one of the the final items to be added to a Dinky commercial collection. Always guaranteed to be a key item in any Dinky collection – its fame always going before it!
