2nd issue with smaller castings (approx 35mm). Pale tan bases. Barely a mark to these delightful, colour-rich figures! In all original condition. Still strung.
The vivid green lift-off lid box has survived well with lightest wear and no repairs. Card feels sturdy. Dated January 1939 (printed on one long side of the lid).
This day-one fresh and bright scenic illustration behind the figures is a rare find, especially in this virtually mint-mint condition! Remarkable.
Note the vivid red U.S. export label on one lid end (almost complete).
Box base gives up another of its secrets: the new York toyshop REISS BROTHERS in which it was sold!
An extremely difficult set to find and in this condition, an exceptional example which is difficult to resist.
