A wonderful old shop stock find!
This Trade Carton contains the 2 remaining Hindle Smart Lorries issued during 1955 and marks the transition from the older 30w numbering to 421. The shopkeeper sold the other one, we surmise.
Tucked away inside the Dinky trade Carton (as sent to the shopkeeper all those years ago), both articulated lorries have an all original maroon paint finish and perfect ‘British Railways’ label on the cab front.
Both in virtually mint condition.
One little chip on the reverse of the roof on one. Note there are a couple of light tyre flat spots to one model( typical when models are in one fixed position for decades).
The yellow picture boxes are so crisp, fresh and vibrantly-coloured.
The plain Trade Carton is clean and tear-free. Light storage wear and a small area of surface loss. Dated November 1955 (Dinky stamp on box underside). Shopkeeper’s original price for individual models is penned.
