Notes
A rare survivor from this period, these early models were never individually boxed. An exquisite old shop stock set of 6 x Royal Corps Signals Despatch Riders! Just 1000 made.
Issued October 1939 (printed date on a lid side), each one is in all original condition with pleasing details and just one model has some fatigue (which does appear stable, so no further deterioration expected). Smooth white rubber wheels run well.
Occasional minor mark to the paint finish – but an impressive and scarce group.
The powder blue lift-off lidded card box looks rarely handled (no repairs). A little age grubbiness and fading as you might expect. Inside you will find the original vivid yellow card insert into which each of the models are slotted.
As far as it is possible to tell, this is not a later made-up set. Shopkeeper’s period price is written on the lid.
A precious old shop stock find and in this condition, difficult to resist.
