Notes
Originally purchased from an ex-employee of Corgi many years ago.
The production model of Corgi 219 Plymouth Suburban Sports was finished in cream with a fawn roof. Later a suspension version would be issued i.e. Corgi 445 in pale blue with a red roof, with a later style baseplate.
This shaped spun version in pale blue with a black roof, early base, and no suspension never went in to production. So, this is probably the only survivor made toward the end of the production run (1959-63). Note the tiny (always reassuring) minute fleck of factory paint immediately around one of the rivets.
Several little marks to the model. Note the little extra dab of paint on a rear wing too.
Curiously, we can see a red interior which is actually underneath the lemon interior! Lots of colours for this model were being mooted at the time.
Just take a look at this image on page 134 of The Great Book of Corgi where you will see some of them:
Cra dpicture box is bright, clean and complete. Looks fresh. Small storage crumple.
