Corgi Toys 1127 Simon Snorkel Fire Engine
Simon Snorkel Fire Engine by Corgi Toys, No. 1127. Very, very near mint/boxed. Scarce late version with 8-spoke cast one-piece wheels & tyres. Late issue card and cellophane picture box. With all 3 polystyrene packing pieces. From The Elmer Collection.
Notes
A popular Corgi model from the Major Packs Emergency Vehicle range of toys. The Simon Snorkel fire engine was made between 1964-74, with a Bedford cab, 6 firemen, water cannon, extending and rotating boom. This model presents very nicely with bright untarnished supports for the boom and a vivid lustre to the original paint finish.
Bright gold booms. Note this example has the rare late issue one-piece wheels and tyres, (with 8-spoke wheel detail).
This card and cellophane picture box is a more difficult find certainly. Clean, strongly-coloured card with original cellophane window (tiny puncture which is easily overlooked). Complete and bright card insert. Nice to see all three polystyrene packing pieces are still present (one at each end flap and one that fits beneath the card insert). One set of end flaps do not appear to have ever been opened.
