Notes
An 8 Model attractive Minic Presentation Set -a super find!
The set comprises:
1) Morris Saloon, in mid-blue (plastic), with metal base & bumpers. One-piece plastic wheels and tyres. Silver trim. Working clockwork motor. Very, very near mint.
2) (Morris Van) Post Office Telephone Van, dark green (plastic) with shiny chrome ladder attachment on the roof. Red plastic ladder is intact. Shiny metal base, bumpers, radiator. Complete royal crest on one side, a little loss to the other crest on the other side. Virtually intact gold ‘POST OFFICE TELEPHONES’ lettering on both sides. Working clockwork motor. Near mint plus.
3) Green tinplate Tractor presents well with shiny chrome radiator and an intact shiny chimney. Grey plastic wheels and well-shaped original rubber tyres. Larger tyres have ‘Made in England tri-ang’ embossed. Working clockwork motor. Very near mint (couple of minor marks).
4) Racer in vivid red (tinplate) with intact clear plastic roof, with lithographed image of driver. Racing number 6 is virtually complete. Working clockwork motor. Dark blue tinplate base. Red wheels and well-shaped balloon tyres. Very near mint.
5) Ambulance in white (tinplate) with black tinplate base and shiny chrome headlight, radiator and bumper assembly. RED CROSS transfers are complete on both sides and on the roof. Complete ‘LCC’ lettering too. Opening rear doors have one virtually complete ’RED CROSS’ transfer and another near-complete transfer. Shiny door bar holds the door closed. MInor marking caused by door bar operation. Working clockwork motor. Near mint plus.
6) British Road Services Truck is in deep red (tinplate) with shiny chrome fitting and red wheel. Well-shaped balloon tyres. Near complete ‘BRITISH ROAD SERVICES’ lettering on both sides. Complete logo on both cab sides. Working clockwork motor. Very near mint.
7) Dust Cart in red and green (tinplate) with shiny sliding metal shutters. Shiny radiator, headlight & bumpers. Grey wheels and well-shaped balloon tyres. Very nearly complete – complete transfers. Working clockwork motor. Near mint plus.
8) BP Tanker in red & green (tinplate) with shiny sliding metal radiator, headlight & bumpers. Red wheels and well-shaped balloon tyres. Virtually complete – complete transfers. Working clockwork motor. Very near mint.
With 5 original Minic Keys and the opened small clear plastic packet.
Correct plain slotted inner has minor wear/marking caused by prolonged contact with the models and the occasional small tear.
Beautifully illustrated colourful lift-off lid card box adds to the appeal of this set. Eye-catching and the colours are still so vibrant! Light ‘foxing’ on one side. Note the blemish to the card on the top right hand corner with a little surface loss too. Remains of the old tape at one side which kept the lid closed. Two lid seam repairs. Tape has been removed at the other side at some time with resultant surface loss. Minor wear besides.
