Nicky Dinky Toys 238 Jaguar D Type
Jaguar D Type by Nicky (Dinky) Toys, No. 238. Excellent plus/boxed. Scarce - in KINGFISHER BLUE with original silver transfer RACING NUMBERS. From A Phenomenal Collection.
Notes
Sought after models that are so difficult to find in good condition! Dinky dies were sold to the Indian Firm S. Kumar & Co. trading as Atamco. (1968-70). Often known as Indian-Dinky toys, the finish was poor in comparison.
A striking example finished in this eye-catching Kingfisher Blue, with original silver details, original blue plastic driver, and black steering wheel. Shiny wheels & well-shaped treaded tyres.
Complete racing numbers transfers throughout. Silver with bold ‘35’ numbering in black.
Black base has the lettering ‘JAGUAR TYPE D’ visible, as well as the product number.
Some surface crazing/fatigue to the metal alloys.
The colourful correct box (ATAMCO P LTD. Calcutta) is bright. Some of the usual wear that plague these comparatively flimsy boxes including a tear to the underside.
