Dinky Toys 290 Double Deck Bus 'DUNLOP'
Double Deck Bus 'DUNLOP' by Dinky Toys, No.290. Very near mint/boxed. Scarce version in RED & CREAM with SPUN WHEELS! A rare and sought-after model from The Alistair Clark Collection. Starting bid £150. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
Issued during 1963 with a type 3 Leyland grille, this classic Dinky bus with spun wheels is a difficult version to find. This example presents well with a lustrous original vibrant red and cream paint finish, treaded tyres. Sloping lettering on both sides (a few tiny dots).
Barely a mark to the paint.
Correct late issue, lighter yellow picture box is vividly-coloured, complete with all end flaps. Crisp feel to the card. Correct colour spot for this version. Light wear.
More difficult to source in our experience than the green, spun wheel version.
