Dinky Toys 290 Double Deck Bus 'DUNLOP'
Double Deck Bus 'DUNLOP' by Dinky Toys, No. 290. Very, very near mint/boxed. Red & cream type 3 issue with UPRIGHT DUNLOP Print. A superb example from The Denis Tyler Collection. Fresh box! Starting bid £100. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
Issued between 1959-61 with a type 3 Leyland grille, this classic Dinky bus presents so well with a lustrous original red and cream paint finish, red cast wheels and well-shaped, smooth tyres. Virtually complete – complete lettering on both sides – earlier issue so DUNLOP lettering is in upright print.
Hard to find the merest mark to the notably all original paint finish.
The bright and fresh picture box looks like old shop stock. Correct colour spot. Faintly pencilled ‘8’ on one side.
