Dinky Toys 503 Foden Flat Truck with Tailboard
Foden Flat Truck with Tailboard by Dinky Toys, No. 503. One of the rarest Fodens! Orange & yellow version. Very near mint/boxed. Such a rare version from The Denis Tyler Collection and one of his prized Dinky toys! QDT starting bid £500. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
Issued for a short period during 1954, this version in orange & deep yellow with yellow wheels is such a rare find. Released in limited numbers, this is only the third that we have ever offered for sale in this colour finish.
Original grey tyres (occasional lightest flat spot) and spare still stowed.
The baseplate is bright and untarnished. No trace of sunfading either.
Tiny mark at a rear corner edge and a couple of tiny marks besides.
Minute inspection finds one tiny touch-in at a wheel arch and a mere dot on the roof back.
The early deep blue card box with a paper label is complete and bright. Light wear. A little piece of old tape at two corners of the lower box (presumably to strengthen and to prevent splitting).
