Notes
This collection represents a lifelong deep appreciation of Dinky Toys, Britains models, Minic models and more primarily from the 1940’s & 50’s. All British made diecast and tinplate models. Proceeds going to charities close to his heart.
One of the most sought-after Dinky models – and surely one of the rarest Dinky Trucks, this is the correct early 1st type issue of the Foden Flat Truck with Chains in green, made during 1952.
Note the 1st type radiator grille, the dimpled post bosses on the underside, the tanker slots, and the large painted hook. Fine, black radial tyres.
Indeed head-on the cab looks mint – the 1st type radiator grille has absolutely no retouching, varnishing, silvering etc.
Under minute scrutiny of this model, you will find just the occasional careful tiny touch-in.
Chain posts are straight, chain is original, green flashes at cab sides are perfect. Axle ends are shiny.
Attractive lustre throughout makes this a superb display piece.
The correct deep blue card box with lift-off lid has a bright paper label. Minor wear. Note the factory stamp ‘G’ (to denote colour of model) at a short lid end.
A beautiful statement piece in a Dinky commercial collection.
