Corgi Gift Set 40 The Avengers

This attractive Gift Set was inspired by the t.v. show ‘The Avengers’ and the models are in very close to perfect condition, issued between 1966-69.
It comprises:
1) John Steed’s Bentley in red and black finish, looking unused, with the figure of John Steed at the wheel. Scarce find with red metal wheels. Very near mint condition.
Occasional tiny mark only.

2) Emma Peel’s Lotus Elan S2 is in bright, white finish. Very near mint condition. Suspension on shaped spun wheels. Supple, well-shaped original tyres. Original figure of Emma Peel. Couple of small extra strokes of paint at bonnet front edge.

This set comes with three plastic umbrellas! These are notably the originals – so often they can go astray, particularly bearing in mind how small they are and how they were never stored in a packet but merely slotted into holes on the plinth. So many that we see have (pretty decent) replacements but they do lack the fine detailing of the originals. These originals have the furling details to the ‘rolled-up’ cloth part of the umbrella and delicate details on the handle, fine point at the base. Little details perhaps but really nice to see! Light wear to one.
Inner card plinth is in excellent condition with bright graphics on crisp card. Couple of minor wheel slot tears and just one pull tab now.

Outer box is complete and bright with quite a crisp feel. Minor handling wear includes a couple of small tear repairs. Creasing and a little wear besides.
