Notes
One of the rarest Dinky models we have ever offered for sale. This is a fascinating piece of Dinky and Ford history intertwined! Dinky sent a batch of Ford Anglia models uniquely finished in this very pale green with a red interior to celebrate the first Ford made in Liverpool, 8th March 1963. Some were given out to visitors to the plant, others were sent via Royal Mail.
The owner informs us:
“Note too, that The Anglia was given out to workers and management. Also journalists. Some pieces found their way in specialist shops”.
The model itself is attractively finished in this delicate pale Eau de nil colour. Bright baseplate and spun wheels with suspension.
Very close to mint.
Occasional mere dot to the paint finish.
The picture box is complete, bright and crisp. Light grubbiness and wear. Green colour spot.
This is a truly exciting addition to any Dinky collection – missing from most collections.
