Dinky Toys 971 Coles Mobile Crane
Coles Mobile Crane by Dinky Toys, No. 571 971. Very, very near mint/boxed (dual-numbered). BRASS winding handles. In Striped Dinky Toys box (straight not italic print) with all packing pieces & Dinky Quality Control Tag. From The Reference Collection.
Notes
An original example of this classic Dinky Supertoy which was renumbered 971 in 1954. The earlier and later numbering on lid ends so marking the transition form the older numbering to the new. Dated 1954 therefore.
Early version – so note that this example does not have ’COLES lettering or indeed the chevron markings at the rear. Deep yellow and matt black, with yellow grooved Supertoy wheels. With tan driver. Brass winding handle cuffs.
The model is in virtually mint condition – an exceptional find. Original grey radial tyres are well-shaped.
The striped Dinky Toys box (straight not italic print) presents well, showing light age/handling wear only. Tarnishing to staples. Packing pieces are still present as well as the Dinky Quality Control Tag.
