Notes
An exciting find, two of these 1st issue Corgi 261 James Bond’s Aston Martin models were kept hidden in a drawer for decades!
The owner tells us:
“They were gifted to my Mother from the chairman of Chester Football club, Reg Rowlands in October/November of 1965, who bought them as gifts for my 2 elder Brothers after the 1965 launch of the popular 007 films.
My Mother was married to, my now deceased Father, Peter Benjamin Hauser who was Player / Manager of Chester FC from 1963 to 1968. Unfortunately Reg never gave them with a gift card or letter, they were only gift-wrapped”.
One available.
Always a sought-after Corgi toy, this James Bond Aston Martin is a first issue casting (production run 1965-69). Note the indicator light casting and double side vent present on this early issue.

This exciting and iconic car is in all original condition with none of the reproduction accessories, rife with this issue.
The car is fully functioning, complete with both figures. This James Bond Aston Martin has a very close to mint, all original, intense glossy gold finish. Occasional negligible mark only. Very nice.
Suspension on all four wheels (somewhat dulled now). Fine tread original tyres are well-shaped.
The 1st issue card plinth (i.e. without arrow on the red section where the model is placed) is complete, fresh and crisp with bright colours. Couple of little wheel slot tears.
Reverse:
The Instruction Packet (rather creased) is complete with the badge, Instruction Leaflet and spare villain.
Never opened Secret Instructions Packet which will contain the Secret Instructions, spare villain and the all-important 007 badge.
The 1st issue outer box has strong colours on crisp, silky card. Note that since it is 1st issue, there is no shading detail around the lettering ASTON MARTIN DB5 on the box face and no thick black border around the JAMES BOND’S lettering, too.
Light wear includes a couple of light scuffs.
