Purchased by a Corgi specialist, this is one of a cache of mid 1960’s models which included colour trial models, donated to Barnardo’s Charity upon the death of a relative. The Barnardo’s charity shop is located just a few minutes from the old Corgi headquarters….
Issued between 1966-69, this colour trial model has an original white finish, moulded bright red interior, white base (production version has a grey base). With Corgi factory POLICE transfers on bonnet, boot and both opening doors.
Spring suspension on the front wire wheels. Opening doors. Opening bonnet reveals a detailed body colour engine. Fine original late issue nylon tyres with Corgi toys embossed (light flat spot to one). Rivetted base.
Few marks to the paint finish and a couple of little transfer nicks.
Correct that this colour trial model would be unboxed.
