Dinky 178
Dinky 178 Plymouth Plaza. Salmon pink & green. An original and unique find with an interior. Excellent plus/boxed. A First for QDT! From The Berkshire Collection Part 2. Please see our Blog on this tranche of the collection.
Notes
The standard production model was issued between 1959-63. At first glance, this version in salmon pink and light green finish with shaped spun wheels and white treaded tyres looks perfectly ‘usual’. However, note the interior! Off-white/pale cream in colour. This model was never issued with a fitted interior at all – we expect this is a factory trial piece or one of a very short run. A first for QDT. In all original condition throughout, this is another remarkable find from this collector.
Tinplate base has light marking. ‘M’ stamped original white treaded tyres are well-shaped. Several little marks/dots to the paint finish.
The red and yellow non-picture box is complete and bright, with vibrant colours. Couple of small seam tears and minor wear.
