Corgi 497
Corgi 497 The Man From UNCLE's Thrushbuster. Rare cream export version. Very near mint/boxed (wear). With original Waverley ring. From The David Frank Collection.
Notes
This is a most unusual item from Corgi in the scarce cream finish and made for just for one year only (1966). Usual colour finish is metallic blue.
This particular example is in very close to mint condition with a fine cream finish and a notably complete and bright bonnet logo . First issue, so metal spotlights. Please note that this is an authentic example, i.e. correct that it does not have a bonnet cast square immediately surrounding the bonnet label (only the metallic blue version has this casting detail).
Hard to find a mark to the paint finish.
This example comes complete with the original Waverley ring and the colourful card ring.
The inner card stand is clean, bright and complete. A little tearing at some wheel slots as you might expect. This version is more usually found with a monochrome base on which the model stands – this example has the deep orange rectangular section instead.
Lots of information on the UNITED NETWORK COMMAND FOR LAW AND ENFORCEMENT (U.N.C.L.E.) on box plinth reverse.
Light creasing and handling wear.
The outer box is complete, clean and bright. Some age/handling wear. Period U.S. price label at an end flap.

A rare t.v. inspired Corgi item.
