There were lots of colour versions of this popular Dinky toy! This has got to be a favourite in this most pleasing of colour combinations.
This scarce early version has a dark grey cab, vibrant violet blue back (not the lighter royal blue), red ridged wheels, white lettering, smooth black tyres. With a working tow hook operated by means of a shiny winding handle.
Marking to the paint finish is nearly all confined to the violet blue exposed edges.
The sturdy deep orange lift-off lid box with a paper label is complete and bright with no tears or repairs. Shiny staples too.
Note the U.S. Export Label (Hudson Dobson) on a lid side.
