Corgi Gift Set 16
Corgi Gift Set 16 Ecurie Ecosse Set. Suspension issue. Very near mint/boxed. With factory label & remains of original bands, Instruction Leaflet with BLUE PRINT & inner packing. From The Lewes Collection.
Notes
This is the suspension issue. Set was issued from 1961-1965.
It comprises:
1) Ecurie Ecosse Transporter has a vivid metallic blue finish, shaped spun wheels, lemon interior and a grey base. Sliding side doors, window glazing and a drop down ramp at the rear. Raised orange lettering at the sides. Able to transport the three racing cars included with this set.
Very near mint with the Genuine Track-Rod Steering Label still in place (usually removed), as well as the remains of the yellow bands.
Couple of contact marks at the rear (which you have to look for).
2) 151A Lotus XI has a bright mid-blue finish, red seats, racing number 7. Driver.
Very near mint with a few little marks at the rear. A little rubbing to the wheel finish caused by the application and removal of the wheel trims. Box is clean and bright and crisp!
3) 150S Vanwall in vermillion red with racing number 25, driver, flat spun wheels with suspension. Very near mint. A little rubbing to the wheel finish caused by the application and removal of the wheel trims. Box is in fine, crisp condition.
4) 152S B.R.M. model finished in green, racing number 7. Very near mint with a couple of little transfer nicks. A little rubbing to the wheel finish caused by the application and removal of the wheel trims. Box is crisp, clean and bright.
Lift-off Lid Box is most attractive with bright clean colours.
Impressive – although close scrutiny reveals some subtle touching up to small contact scuffs to the blue section.
Complete with all original card packing pieces:
Instruction Leaflet for the operation of the Ecurie Ecosse* model is enclosed – and most unusually the print is blue.
