Notes
Such an attractive item from Dinky – made between 1960-64. This particular model is dated 1960 (Dinky stamp on the inside of the box lid). The model has a shining, original lemon and orange paint finish. Bright baseplate and crisp and bright ‘Dinky Toys’ and ‘Meccano’ lettering on both sides and above the cab. This is a fine example indeed that looks as if it has spent much of the past 51 years or so in the box. Certainly never played with, so none of the usual chips at exposed edges etc. What a delight!
The mechanism works well when the handle is turned, moving the sliding interior platforms so that goods may be loaded and unloaded more easily.
Note that there is a little casting mark on one side of the van and there are very few marks to the paint finish, mostly at the rear opening doors as one might expect.
Complete with three removable plastic pallets, packing piece, and Instruction Leaflet.
The striped SUPERTOYS box looks very bright, clean and complete, with light wear only.
Just a little rustiness at the staples and tiny age wear besides and a faintly pencilled price on the lid.
Nice to see that the lid is unpunctured too – since quite often the winding handle can cause damage to the box.
An eye-catching Dinky essential to add to your collection!
