A truly remarkable and iconic item from The MBU Collection. This is the 6th example released from this collection.
Notes
An exceptional iconic piece that was never issued.
This model was discovered in component form, in the office of Marcel Van Cleemput. It is an exquisite model finished with a rich gold-plate. A fully-functioning 1973 issue Corgi 270 James Bond Aston Martin. One of only 7 known to exist and we surmise that they were intended for a special promotion, competition, high profile occasion/launch.
An arresting sight, this original gold-plated model is exquisitely finished.
With the impeccable provenance of having been found in the office of Marcel Van Cleemput, Chief designer for Corgi. Given to the MBU Collector as a thank you for his contribution to The Great Book of Corgi, the owner tells us:
“After helping source some toys for the Great Book of Corgi, I was offered some of the desk drawer contents from his office in Northampton. I did meet Marcel just briefly whilst visiting up North but I did not have the foresight to badger him for any other personal Corgi possessions other than the plated C270!”
