Dinky 944
Dinky 944 Leyland Octopus Tanker. Scarce issue with black plastic wheels. Near mint/boxed. From a most knowledgeable & enthusiastic collector in South London.
Notes
This fine Dinky Supertoys model is in original condition – this is the rare issue with black plastic wheels. Bright white and orange-yellow cab and body, grey chassis with fresh and bright SHELL BP labels on both sides (tiny crease to one), and at the rear of the tanker.
So often, the white plastic tank becomes discoloured and yellowed over time. Happy to say that this example is a very bright and fresh white colour.
Complete with tow hook and spare wheel still affixed to the bright baseplate.
A few little chips i.e. at a couple of wheel arches, and a few little dots to the cab. Tiny corner crease to one label.
The distinctive pictorial lift-off lid box is complete and bright.
Minor wear includes an edge scuff. Split to one corner of the lid. Rusty staples. ‘300’ written in pen on the box base underside.
Unusual issue to fill that gap!
