Nicky 137
Nicky Toys 137 Plymouth Fury Sports. Very near mint (lacks steering wheel)/boxed, with 2 card packing rings . Deep sky blue issue. Scarce model from The Berlin Collection.
Notes
Sought after models that are so difficult to find in good condition! Dinky dies were sold to the Indian Firm S. Kumar & Co. trading as Atamco. (1968-70). Often known as Indian-Dinky toys, the finish was poor in comparison.
This particular example is a difficult find in deep sky blue, yellow-green interior, both seated figures, black tonneau.
No ‘Dinky Toys’on base, but ‘PLYMOUTH FURY’ present.
Both aerials are intact. One-piece plastic wheel and tyre construction. Tinplate base. Opening bonnet with engine detail. Silver trim.
Couple of stray flicks of factory silver on the boot.
Colourful card box presents well with vivid colours. End flap tear (a heavy model stored in a comparatively flimsy box). Nice to see that this model comes complete with 2 Nicky packing rings – merely two cut sections of an early Nicky Toys box! They used what came to hand.
