Corgi 499
Corgi 499 Citroen Safari 1968 Winter Olympics "Grenoble". Scarce version with RED roof rack & YELLOW ski poles. Very near mint/boxed (scarce version with FORMED EDGES to the card plinth ends i.e. not serrated). With both figures. From The Lake District Corgi Collection.
Notes
The most difficult to find of the three Citroen Winter Sports vehicles made by Corgi.
This white and blue Citroen is in all original condition with a beautifully detailed perfect “Grenoble” transfer on the bonnet. All delicate roof parts are complete and intact. Note this is the scarce issue with a red roof rack and yellow ski poles.
Ski-ing and figure on sled are still present.
Shaped spun wheels with suspension. The opening tailgate reveals where the skier and tobogganist can be stowed away safely in the back of the car (the rear seats may be folded down).
Just the occasional negligible mark.
The colourful cellophane-fronted header card box is complete and bright. Note too the large header card is complete and straight (not creased). Original cellophane window has a tiny pinhole-sized puncture. Light age wear.
Note the card plinth is a scarce find with the formed edges to the card plinth:
- a small point but usually these edges are serrated.
