Dinky 943
Dinky 943 Leyland Octopus Tanker-ESSO. Near mint plus/boxed. From The Berlin Collection.
Notes
This sought-after classic Dinky tanker was issued between 1958-64, this being an early issue with diecast wheels. Vibrant, glossy red finish throughout. Tanker is tinplate with complete lettering on both sides – mere dot or two to the white background to the lettering (hard to find this good). Rear transfer has a thin scratch. Complete with an intact ladder and manhole covers.
Shiny base and original treaded tyres.
Paint finish appears virtually mint (note the small stray piece of transfer in a recess near a wheel arch – factory). Minute scrutiny reveals a few little wheel arch touch-ins.
The striped ‘Supertoys’ box is complete and bright. Light wear and a small area of surface loss at one short lid end. Faint pencil writing nearby.
