Dinky 501
Dinky 501 Foden Diesel 8-Wheel Wagon. Near mint/boxed. Scarce 1st type issue. Red/fawn with silver flash. Fresh box. From The Reference Collection.
Notes
Issued between 1948-52, this fresh and bright 1st type Foden has a vivid red cab and chassis, fawn back and silver flash. Such an attractive lustre to the paint finish!
Fine tread radial tyres and hook. Tanker slits. Large unpainted hook, spare wheel and shiny baseplate, axles etc.
Upon closest inspection, one can find a few retouches (at some wheel arches and a really faint one at cab front). Couple of very faint surface marks to the cab roof.
The early powder blue box with a paper label is extremely clean and fresh, showing minimal handling. Light sunfading to the blue lid.

Minor puncture to the box base. No graffiti. None of the usual rubbing at edges.
An outstanding display piece.
