Dinky 181
Dinky 181 Volkswagen. Near mint plus/boxed. Very scarce issue in pale blue with blue plastic wheels. Crisp, bright box! The Berlin Collection.
Notes
This is the most difficult version to source (allowing for the South African issues of course), and was made towards the end of a long production run. This example is in close to mint condition with a distinctive light blue original finish, deeper blue plastic wheels and the correct matte baseplate.
Few little marks to the paint finish at a side raised body line. Couple of tiny marks besides.
The correct later issue pale yellow card box is complete and vividly-coloured with the correct ‘blank’ spot at the end (not an over-sticker as was used with the earlier boxes, but imprinted on to the card). Crisp. Light grubby spot . Pencilled ‘500’ at an end flap.
