Dinky 153A
2 x Dinky 153A U.S. Military Jeep. Near mint - very near mint/not individually boxed. Two versions. From The East Netherlands Collection.
Notes
Two different versions of the scarce U.S. issue Military Jeep:
1) 1948-52 issue, with a slightly rounded bonnet. All original condition throughout and looking completely unused, with an original military green finish and a notably intact white star on the bonnet, and on one side (correct). Cast round hole on the base.
Nearly always found quite chipped at the tinplate windscreen – this example is notably chip-free. Rounded axles, smooth original tyres are well-shaped.
Never individually boxed (issued 1948-52), this model would have been sold from a shopkeeper’s trade box.
Very near mint.
2) This version has a deeper military green finish, with crimped axle ends original well-shaped treaded tyres and no cast hole on the base. Few little marks to the paint finish and a couple of small nicks to the bonnet transfer. Version with ‘flat’ bonnet shape (not rounded).
Near mint.
