D40F
Shopkeeper's Trade Box containing 6 x 40F Hillman Minx models. Near mint - very near mint. With dividers. From The Berlin Collection.
Notes
You could be forgiven for thinking that you were looking into the shopkeeper’s window in the mid 1950’s and looking at his current stock of Hillman Minx models! This is a fine stash of various Minx cars – two tan (one with Hillman Minx cast on the underside of roof), three green.
Five of the models have small lettering on a railed base ( so 1st type). One of the green examples has larger lettering and Hillman Minx cast on the underside of the roof.
They all present well, having received minimal handling. Shiny bases, well-shaped original smooth tyres. One is graded near mint( few little ‘bloomed’ spots) two are graded near mint plus, three very near mint.
All have original paint with no retouches.
A fine array indeed! All enclosed in an excellent buff trade box which is complete and clean, with no splits. Nice to see that this example is complete with the original dividers. Rust at staples and a little rust spotting on the inside of the box lid (minor).
An exciting addition to your collection. Hard to resist!
