D945
Dinky 945 A.E.C. Fuel Tanker ESSO. Near mint plus/boxed. Scarce with off-white gantry and very pale grey interior. From The Reigate Collection.
Notes
Early issue (1966-75) with "PUT A TIGER In YOUR TANK " logo at rear of vehicle. A difficult to find version with an off-white gantry and very pale grey interior, grey plastic wheels. In complete condition with both hosepipes and all six off-white manhole covers intact. Displays nicely – this early issue has jewelled headlights and a bright and complete, eye-catching ‘Tiger’ label at the rear.
A little chipping where the two components attach (not visible when attached) and the occasional little mark besides. Small area where the paint is rather thin (as finished at the factory). All paper labels are bright and complete, with a little minor wear to some. Note the rear label is s tarting to lif due to the glue drying out over time.
The colourful end flap picture box is complete and bright. Minor wear. Small area of surface loss at an end flap (where a price label was removed at some time).
