Dinky 919
Dinky 919 Guy Van "Golden Shred". Near mint plus/boxed. From July, 1957. One of the most eye-catching Dinky Advertising Vans. From The Reigate Collection.
Notes
Issued between 1957-58, the golden age of Dinky! This is one of the most eye-catching Dinky models you can buy and it is always an exciting find. This sought-after van has an original red paint finish throughout and complete highly decorative transfers on both sides. Bright base and well-shaped, supple original tyres (spare stowed).
A very few tiny marks to the paint finish ( practically unavoidable at rear doors) – and a small raised casting mark low down on one side of the box van. Note the minor ‘blooming’ at cab front. Minute scrutiny finds three small later retouches.
The box is bright, clean and tear-free. Light pencilled writing on box lid centre. This example is dated from July, 1957 (Dinky stamp on the inside of the box lid). Light scuffing on underside of box base.
A highlight in any collection.
