Rare to come to the market place, we are pleased to offer for sale this all original Leyland Comet Wagon in Royal Blue with a distinctive powder blue back and light blue Supertoy wheels. 532 stamped on the underside. Original grey tyres have a barely detectable flat spot.
Intact opening tailgate. Notably the paint finish is lustrous, original and without ‘blooming’!
Light flecks of tarnishing to the baseplate but note that the tailgate bar is still shiny. Spare wheel fixing is shiny too.
Small area of rough casting low down at one of the powder blue sides.
Occasional tiny dot to the paint finish – visible only to the keenest eye.
The striped dual-numbered ‘DINKY TOYS’ box is fresh, clean and bright. Correct colour spot. Light tarnishing to staples. Dated 1955 from the Dinky factory stamp on the inside surface of the lid. Card packing piece is still present.
