D511
Dinky 511 Guy 4-Ton Lorry. 1st Type in fawn & red with RIDGED WHEELS. Near mint plus/boxed. From The Reference Collection.
Notes
An early commercial Dinky model, with a first type cab, original vivid red cab and chassis, fawn (or earth) back, large unpainted hook. Issued between 1948-52.
This model displays well with a vibrant original paint finish. Just the occasional minor mark. Well-shaped original tyres. Pleasing silver trim.
Bright baseplate and metal parts. Spare wheel. Bolt fixing. Rear axle located beneath tin clips.
The powder blue card box with a picture label is free of tears and graffiti ( unless you count the period pencilled price). Note the slight difference in colour tone between lid and base – suggesting that this is a later pairing. Some sunfading at one side of the lid. Light wear besides.
