Notes
A rare find! This 1st issue example made between 1947-48 has a khaki and black finish with deep green wheels. Correct that this early issue does not have triangular lugs next to the number plate. Early ridged wheels, and rear axle fixed by tin clips. Small unpainted hook. A Lustrous and distinctive paint finish:
Bright baseplate and metal parts generally:
Upon close scrutiny, you will notice that there are a few of the usual marks at wheel arches, occasional tiny mark besides. Well-shaped smooth original tyres.
The correct early buff box with a complete picture label is bright and fresh. Looks sturdy with no tears. Minor handling wear. Shopkeeper’s period price and there is a Dinky factory dab of paint to denote colour of model.
