C151
Corgi 151 Lotus Mark Eleven Le Mans Racing Car. Near mint/boxed (with 151A over-sticker). Originally the property of Mike Richardson. Very rare RED finish - first we have seen with a CLEAR PLASTIC RADIATOR INSERT. From The MBU Collection.
Notes
Certain to raise the pulse rate….we are delighted to offer for sale one of the most sought after Corgi models!
The owner tells us:
" This was sold to me by Mike Richardson (of Dinky fame!) He related in one of our many conversations that all the red ones were retailed mainly in Scotland…"
An all original example of this classic racing car. Vibrant bright red finish, lemon-yellow seats, intact blue windscreen, racing number 3, headlights, flat spun wheels.
So rarely seen in any condition! Indeed, the first we have ever seen with a clear plastic insert (just like the headlight detail) at the radiator site.
Were the headlights all in one-piece and this radiator piece is part of the assembly that is never usually shown?
The baseplate has a sprinkling of tarnished spots. A few chips to the paint finish. This particular colour finish is missing from many Corgi collections.
The blue and yellow picture box with 151A over-sticker is complete with all end flaps intact. Not the correct box but the red example is pictured on one side. Light wear only.
