C252
Corgi 252 Rover 2000.Near mint plus/not individually boxed. On 'Marble' Plinth A very rare Corgi Presentation Model commissioned by The Rover Motor Company, October 1963.
Notes
An exciting find!
In October 1963, the Rover Motor Company commissioned a small quantity of gold-plated cars to coincide with the launch and to give away to VIPs, including press and export distributors.
This is one of the original models which would have been mounted on a cigarette case made of wood.Still affixed to the original ‘marble’ plinth which would have been the lid for the cigarette box. Original label still in place.
Model is in close to mint condition – one of the best we have seen (albeit of a very small number!).
A wonderful talking point in your collection. Very few have to come to light, although there is an example on display in The National Heritage Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
