Corgi Gift Set 6 Volkswagen Truck with Trailer & Cooper-Maserati F/1. Very near mint/boxed (lacks small flap). From an old shop find in Yorkshire.

Notes
A scarce set issued between 1967-69 comprising:
1) Corgi 490 VW Breakdown Truck, shaped spun wheels with suspension. With strung tow hook, red VW emblem, complete “RACING CLUB” paper labels on both sides. Little chip on the roof. Both spare tyres are present, as well as an intact opening red plastic tool box, complete with all the chrome tools. No chevron paper label.
2) Corgi 156 Cooper-Maserati on a red trailer with detailed cast wheels (front two wheels are gold-coloured). Very close to mint model is still banded to the red trailer. Couple of very minor (surely as-made) marks to the red trailer.
The contents are housed in a distinctive and most attractive card picture box with a flip-up colourful backdrop for display. Typical stress tear at both opening hinges and one of the small tuck-in flaps is missing (not immediately obvious).
Strong vivid colours on sturdy card. Ruffling and storage wear besides. Old tape which kept the box closed still in situ.
Inner has no tears, colours are vivid. Both winged card pieces are intact which may be used to prop open the box on display.
All in all, this is a scarce and appealing two-piece Gift Set.
